How to display multiple records per row in an ASP.NET DataList

Create a new page in your site and name it with an .aspx file extension.

In Design View, drag and drop the DataList Control (ASP.NET Controls > Data > DataList) on to the page.

Configure the DataSource and select the field(s) you want to display from each record. In this example we are using City, State and Zip.

On the DataList Tasks flyout, select Property Builder.

On the General screen, under Repeat Layout, change the number of columns from ‘0’ to ‘3’, and the Direction from ‘Vertical’ to Horizontal. You can also use the Borders screen to set cell-padding and cell-spacing.

In Design View you will now see 3 records in each row.

Preview the page in your browser.
